When I first started researching and learning about autism, I frequently felt overwhelmed by the sheer amount of information available, and I often wished there was a publication with just the basics and must-know information for “beginners” like me.
While embarking on publishing the books that I originally wrote for my grandson, I had the idea to start a magazine also, including basic information most parents, grandparents, or caregivers of newly diagnosed autistic children would look for—and while at it, why not include some inspirational material, too.
I hope that Autism Is…? The Magazine, will not only be helpful to you but will also be a source of encouragement and inspiration. The autism journey, while always unique, terribly interesting, and sometimes mysterious, can be difficult and stressful at times. I hope my efforts in putting this magazine together will make life easier for you, and provide a little pick-me-up along the way.

It’s Official- Now What?
This first issue of Autism Is…? The Magazine includes basic information about autism, initial reactions to receiving the diagnosis, the importance of early intervention, information about sensory processing disorder, do-it-yourself tips, and a short list of resources to get you started. – The kind of down-to-earth, practical, and helpful information that you may be looking for and need, and that will hopefully make your autism journey a little easier.
